The Ministry of Economic Affairs released the external debt report during the first ten months of the current financial year.
During the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, the external debt has decreased by 60.5 percent and this is due to the suspension of the IMF program.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, from July 2022 to April 2023, Pakistan received a loan of 8 billion 12 million dollars.
The report said that in the same period last financial year, 13 billion dollars of foreign debt was received.
In the budget 2022-23, financing from external sources was estimated at 22 billion 65 million dollars.
In the first 10 months of this financial year, a loan of 1 billion 97 million dollars was received from the Asian Development Bank.
The report of the Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that the World Bank gave a loan of one billion 17 million dollars. While the IMF gave a loan of 1 billion 16 million dollars.
In July-April of this fiscal year, $980 million was received under the Saudi Arabia Oil Facility, while $900 million was borrowed from commercial banks in the first 10 months of this fiscal year.
The report states that $677.2 million was received from Naya Pakistan certificates.
