Hollywood actor Johnny Depp’s movie ‘Jean du Bari’ received great reception at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to an international media report, on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival, the film ‘Jean du Barry’ was so loved by the participants that they gave a standing ovation for seven minutes.
The film marks Johnny Depp’s return to the big screen in 2022 following his infamous defamation lawsuit with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Actor Puni Bandhe with dark hair and wearing sunglasses entered the event accompanied by security, posing for pictures and signing autographs with his enthusiastic fans.
As soon as the film ended, the whole hall erupted with applause from the crowd and Johnny Depp had tears in his eyes after seeing this scene.
Johnny Depp plays the role of King Louis XV of France in this film directed by Mayon.
But not everyone was happy to see Johnny Depp at the Cannes Film Festival as many took to social media to argue that the actor’s presence at the festival sent the wrong message.
On the other hand, the head of the Cannes Film Festival, Thierry Fremaux, speaking to reporters on Monday expressed his views on opening the festival with Johnny Depp’s film.
He said, ‘I don’t know about Johnny Depp’s reputation in America, I have only one principle in my life, that is freedom of thought and speech and working within the law.
“If Johnny Depp had been banned from acting in a film or the film had been banned, we wouldn’t be talking about it here,” he added.
