Mumbai: Kedarnath Bhattacharya, who sang 21 thousand songs in 26 languages in the Indian film industry, faced hard work and hardships in his journey to become Kumar Sanu.
Kumar Sanu’s rule over the Indian film industry has been going on for 4 decades. From breaking the world record of singing 28 songs in one day to having a room full of awards at home, the singer’s journey has never been so easy.
In an interview to Time of India, Kumar Sanu recalled his difficult period and said that he was a big fan of Kishore Kumar and used to sing his songs in restaurants and bars.
Kumar Sanu, who has sung songs for hits like Aashiqui, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Sadak, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Baaziar, said that I had the urge to do something big in life and that gave me the courage and motivation.
Kumar Sanu said that my name is Kedarnath Bhattacharya but everyone knows as Kumar Sanu. In the film industry, Kumar Sanu was given the name by musician Kalyanji Anandji and now this name is my identity.
Paying tribute to Amitabh Bachchan, the famous singer said that Kalyanji Anandji sent the cassette of my songs to Amitabh Bachchan by Sanjay Dutt and told him to listen to this young man. I want to shoot you a song in his voice.
Kalyanji Anandji had talked about one song, but when Amitabh Bachchan heard my cassette, he said that all the songs should be in his voice.
Kumarsano revealed that in 1993 I had to go to America for 40 days. All the film producers will be worried that they will face problems due to the delay in the recording of the songs.
I solved this problem by asking my manager to schedule continuous and back-to-back recording sessions. Thus setting a world record of recording 28 songs in a single day at Juhu Studio.
