According to the report of the American Broadcasting Corporation, the plan for the building of the new American embassy in Beirut was announced in 2015, the cost of which is estimated at one billion dollars.
The construction of the embassy is carried out by the Bureau of Overseas Buildings, which has built American embassies in many countries of the world.
