Renowned dramatist Anwar Maqsood’s Shahra Afaq stage drama “Sade 14 August” will be presented at Al Hamra Arts Council Lahore from February 27.
Director Dawar Mehmood, along with actor Sajid Hasan and director of Alhamra Arts Council Zulfikar Ali Zulfi, said in a press conference at Alhamra Arts Council Lahore that Anwar Maqsood’s famous masterpiece “14th and a Half August” will be staged from February 27 to March 22 at Alhamra Arts Council. It will be presented in Lahore.
The play sheds light on the contemporary social and societal issues of Pakistan.
He said that the main characters of the play are Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mahatma Gandhi, he said that Anwar Maqsood has brought theater back to Pakistan, the young generation is getting attracted towards theater due to the efforts of Anwar Maqsood.
