Vivek Agnihotri, director and producer of India’s controversial film ‘The Kashmir Files’, has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan of stealing a song from his film.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, while tweeting on microblogging platform Twitter, claimed that the version of the song ‘Hum Jeyenge’, played in the background of Imran Khan’s video, was taken from his film ‘The Kashmir Files’.
It should be noted that ‘Hum Dejenge’ is a famous and timeless Urdu poem by Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, which he wrote in view of the downfall of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s government and the dictatorial rule of General Zia-ul-Haq. It became popular all over the world. This poem has been filmed in different eras, by different artists.
Recently, several violent protests were witnessed during the arrest of Chairman PTI by Rangers from the confines of Islamabad High Court, while supporters of Imran Khan also clashed with the state machinery.
Various videos of these protests were shared from PTI Chairman’s personal Instagram account, along with PTI’s social media accounts.
He clarified that there are several versions of this poem written by Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz and he has acquired the broadcast rights of the said version from Faiz House.
