The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asked Pakistan to take real tough decisions, with technical talks demanding to declare the assets of officers in grade 17 and above and their families.
According to sources, guidelines will also be issued for access to assets of law enforcement agencies, State Bank, Establishment Division and FBR will work together.
In the talks, the IMF expressed its lack of confidence in the performance of the electricity distribution companies, expressed serious concerns over the failure to collect 100 percent of the bills, while also demanding the government to ensure the collection of the bills.
Demands for ending subsidy in electricity tariff and ending the tariff subsidy of the industrial sector have also come out from the side of the IMF.
IMF says that elimination of revolving debt is not possible without 100% bill collection and improving the performance of government companies.
