Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement to purchase 5 more aircraft for artificial rain, Saudi Arabia is the second country to receive this technology.
According to Urdu News, Saudi Arabia has made a deal for 5 more planes for cloud seeding (artificial rain), on behalf of the kingdom, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdul Rehman Al-Fazli signed the agreement.
The environment minister said that 4 aircraft will be used for artificial rain and one for meteorological studies, all the five aircraft are the latest of their kind and equipped with all required technologies.
He pointed out that the purpose of the cloud seeding aircraft deal is to develop artificial rain technology in Saudi Arabia, it will make the artificial rain process effective and widen its scope. The operational cost of the aircraft will be lower.
Environment Secretary Dr. Osama Faqih says that apart from Saudi Arabia, other countries have research planes on artificial rain, our country is second in this regard.
He said that our aim is the growth of vegetation and the promotion of water resources, we are pursuing the policy of using renewable sources of water in every possible way.
