Britain became the first country to supply Ukraine with a long-range cruise missile.
According to the foreign news agency, through these missiles, Kiev’s army will be able to target Russian troops and weapons depots from the front lines.
Ukraine had been asking for long-range missiles for the past several months, but other allies, including the United Kingdom and the United States, were only offering short-range missiles.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said in Parliament that Russia must admit that it is because of its actions that we are providing such large systems to Ukraine.
He said that Britain is giving Ukraine Storm Shadow missiles which will be used from its territory.
Defense Minister said that an assurance has been taken from Ukraine that it will not shoot these missiles inside Russia.
It should be noted that the Kremlin had previously said that if Britain gave missiles to Ukraine, it would be met with a befitting response by our military.
The major development comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said his military must open a new front to counter a Russian attack.
