Turkish presidential candidate Muharram Ince has decided to stay out of the election race.
According to the US Broadcasting Corporation, his number of potential voters was low and some opposition leaders feared that he would further fracture the anti-Erdogan vote.
While giving a press conference in Ankara, he said that I am leaving this field, I am doing it for my country.
Commenting on the central opposition, he said, “I don’t want them to blame me for their defeat when they lose.”
However, Moharram Inns’ political party ‘Homeland’ will contest the parliamentary elections.
He said that I request every family to give one vote to my party.
It should be remembered that the 59-year-old Ines participated in the presidential election against Tayyip Erdogan in 2018 but was unsuccessful.
Elections are held every 5 years in Turkey, and the candidate who gets more than 50% of the votes is elected president.
If no party gets a majority, the elections go to a second round where the two candidates who have received the most votes in the first round face off.
