Karachi, the hottest month of May on record

Karachi: The mercury in Shahr Quaid on Wednesday was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, which is the highest ever recorded in the month of May.

According to the Meteorological Department The weather in the city remained hot and humid on Wednesday, with unusual heat due to cessation of sea breezes in the afternoon, however, the intensity of the unusual heat was not felt much due to the relative humidity of 21%.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of the city on Wednesday increased by 3 degrees compared to the previous day to record 39 degrees Celsius. Earlier, the average temperature of the city in the month of May was 38.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the Early Warning Center of the Department of Meteorology, hot and humid weather and sea breezes are expected to be suspended during the afternoon. Due to which a slight decrease in temperature is expected.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the weather will remain hot and dry in other districts of the province and the temperature may exceed 44 degrees in the districts of Upper and Central Sindh.
