The US Department of State says that it is aware of the arrest of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, and has already said that the US does not have a position on any political candidate or party.
The US State Department said in its statement that it calls for respect for democratic values and the rule of law around the world and urges all protesters to express their grievances peacefully.
He further said that the authorities should respond with patience according to the rights and democratic principles.
It should be noted that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who reached Islamabad High Court yesterday, was arrested in NAB’s Al-Qadir Trust case.
Chairman PTI Imran Khan was arrested on the way as soon as he started going to the relevant office of the High Court to get his biometrics done.
According to sources, the NAB officials present there had warrants for the arrest of Imran Khan.
