LONDON: Britain’s new king, Charles III, has been given the 360-year-old St. Edward’s Crown, the seventh royal to wear the crown, which is studded with precious stones and jewels.
The Imperial State Crown was created in 1937 for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI. In addition to other precious stones, more than 2000 diamonds are embedded in this crown.

St Edward’s Crown is made of solid 22 carat gold, studded with 444 jewels and precious stones including sapphires, rubies and topazes. The said crown is more than 30 cm long and weighs more than two kilograms.
