Mumbai: Bollywood blockbuster ‘Rockstar’ is one of the best films of Ranbir Kapoor’s career but now it has been revealed that the role was first offered to John Abraham.
In an informal conversation with his fans, Ranbir Kapoor said that when director Imtiaz Ali approached him for the film, it was not a ‘rock star’ but a film on marketing.
Ranbir Kapoor said, “We came to know that John Abraham would play the lead role in ‘Rockstar’ but then after some time the project was shelved due to unknown reasons.
The actor said that I asked Imtiaz Ali about ‘Rockstar’ and he told that the writer of the film wants to direct and act in the film himself, that’s why the project has been cancelled.
Ranbir Kapoor said that after a few months, Imtiaz Ali contacted me and said that he had spoken to the writer of the film and now I will play the lead role in ‘Rockstar’.
‘Rockstar’ initially met with a few flops but eventually became the biggest film of Ranbir Kapoor’s career and won him his first Filmfare Award for his performance in it.
