Boston: Singaporean and American experts have teamed up to create the world’s smallest silicon LED to create a holographic microscope. On the one hand, the smartphone can be turned into a microscope, on the other hand, it will also help in the production of photonic chips.

The innovation is expected to pave the way for photonic chips that use photons for communication. Experts from Singapore and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have created an LED that is only one micrometer in size.

This will help in making lensless microscopes and other items. On the other hand, the production of holographic lens will also be possible. In this way, it will be possible to take pictures of human cells with a normal phone and thus it will be very easy to turn a smartphone into a microscope.
