The Pakistan Benelux Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PABOCCI) based in the European capital of Brussels has congratulated the Belgian Embassy in Pakistan on the successful organization of the ‘Belgian Business Contact Day’ organized at the Karachi Chamber.
It should be noted that on that day the Trade Section of the Embassy presented to the business community of Pakistan Belgian companies manufacturing international quality products in the form of their catalogues, which was well appreciated by the business community of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Belgium to Pakistan, Charles Delugen, said that Belgium is enjoying strong business relations with Pakistan and today’s catalog exhibition of Belgian companies at the Karachi Chamber will strengthen trade and business relations between the two countries. It is the best way to promote more.
The Belgian Ambassador said that this is his third visit to Karachi after assuming the post of Ambassador as he is always keen to promote trade and investment relations.
On the occasion, the Ambassador of Belgium appreciated KCCI for hosting the Belgian Catalog Exhibition in its premises and paid tribute to Trade Commissioner Abid Hussain for the successful organization of the exhibition.
Speaking at the event, KCCI President Mohammad Tariq Yusuf said that the ‘Belgium Catalog Exhibition’ is undoubtedly a very important source of information for the business community of Karachi, who are looking for products and services offered by Belgium. “This is a great opportunity, which will help connect Pakistani businesses with their Belgian counterparts,” he added, adding that catalogs containing details of 260 companies were made available at the exhibition today.
Emphasizing the need for greater cooperation with Belgian companies, he specifically stated that the cooperation between the business communities of the two friendly countries would have to be strengthened in such a way that the Pakistani companies themselves would develop all these latest products. Be able to start production that is currently being developed by Belgian companies, especially those being developed by the Belgian engineering sector.
“We have to learn from Belgium’s expertise and focus on technology transfer which will definitely benefit Pakistan’s manufacturing sector and the country’s economy,” he continued.
He said that considering Pakistan’s rich resources and talent, there is a strong possibility that the business and industrial community here will also be able to produce good quality products like those produced in Belgium.
He added that he was quite optimistic that today’s Belgium catalog exhibition would definitely pave the way for stronger trade and business relations.
