Islamabad: After a few months of controversy, the federal government has decided to appoint Barrister Shahzad Elahi as the new Attorney General for Pakistan.
A senior government official confirmed to The Express Tribune that the government has finally decided to appoint Shahzad Ata Elahi as the new AGP. Shahzad Elahi Ishtar will replace Usaf Ali who resigned due to ill health.
Shahzad Elahi is the grandson of former President Fazal Elahi Chaudhry and is known for his hard work, integrity and understanding of legal matters. He is also a young corporate lawyer with experience in commercial, tax and banking laws, civil, commercial, corporate, constitutional litigation etc.
Shahzad Elahi belongs to the famous law firm Cornelius, Lane & Mufti. Supreme Court judge Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan also belonged to the same firm before his promotion to the bench.
