Once again the tragedy of Peshawar has shaken the foundations of the state. The most tragic incident occurred when a suicide bomber blew himself up during noon prayer in a mosque in Peshawar, killing more than a hundred people. The whole nation is in mourning over this incident. The heart is crying tears of blood and every eye is tearful. How many houses were destroyed by this tragedy, how many women became widows and children orphaned.
This is a dark side of our history which has left many question marks for our rulers and people. Our politicians have no interest in public interest. They have failed miserably in ending inflation, reducing unemployment and defeating terrorists. A new gift of terrorism is being given to the people oppressed by inflation and unemployment.
This nation has faced terrorism for a long time. For the last two decades, our country has been the target of terrorists and the incidents of terrorism are happening continuously. Thousands of our citizens and soldiers have been martyred in these incidents. The damage done to the country’s economy is separate. Human blood was being wasted indiscriminately and instead of stopping, it has started to increase once again. After the tragedy of Army Public School in 2014, all the political parties along with the military leadership prepared the National Action Plan in which it was decided not to tolerate any form of terrorism and it was determined to destroy the terrorists. . After that, a major operation called ‘Zarb Azab’ took place, in which the entire nation fully cooperated with the Pakistan Army and that operation was successful and the terrorists were eliminated to a large extent.
Unfortunately, even in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, terrorism could not be completely eradicated and their sporadic operations continued, but their strength had been broken. Just to show their presence, the terrorists continued to carry out small actions whenever they got an opportunity, but compared to the past history of terrorism, these actions were negligible. Thus, peace and order was established in the country for some time. Then, gradually, the terrorists again started operations in the homeland. From 2021, terrorist incidents started happening in the country and they started increasing. Until the end of 2022 and the beginning of 23, it is known that there is no day when there is no incident of terrorism in any part of the country. These incidents continued to increase day by day and eventually a great and tragic tragedy like the Peshawar tragedy took place, in which more than a hundred innocent citizens were martyred.
After the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, terrorist activities have increased in Pakistan. Perhaps the terrorists have been encouraged and safe havens have been provided to them. Although we were among those who believed that after the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, peace would be established in Pakistan, the Taliban would stop the movement of terrorists on our western border. But looking at the situation now, there is a lot of disappointment and regret. We also started the series of barbed wire fencing to secure our western border, but now it also seems to be ineffective because the movement of terrorists continues as it is, I don’t know what the purpose of that fence is. ?
However, instead of looking at anyone, we should improve the conditions of our country by force. We should not pin our hopes on America, United Nations or Afghanistan. We ourselves must deal with these terrorists with full force. Once again Operation Zarb-e-Azb is needed, but an even larger scale operation is needed in which not even the remnants of the terrorists remain. If their remains are released, they become stronger again. Now is not the time for condemnation and negotiation, we have seen it all so much, it doesn’t make any sense. So now the state has to use all its resources to carry out a massive operation against the terrorists with full force. This is the only way through which terrorism will end and peace will be established in the country.
