Islamabad: In the Tosha Khana case, Imran Khan’s petition against the Election Commission’s decision of disqualification was heard in the Islamabad High Court, in which the court extended the order to stop the by-election on the seat of Mianwali till May 11.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar appeared in the court. At the beginning of the hearing, the court remarked that this is a second case, but I don’t know why it is being delayed. The lawyer said that the real issue is that the application is a miscellaneous application to withdraw. The case is being heard before the full bench in the Lahore High Court.
The Chief Justice remarked that when is your case scheduled in the Lahore High Court, to which the lawyer replied that our case is probably scheduled for May 19 in Lahore. There are continuous cases, I have to go on vacation.
The Chief Justice said that a request for adjournment has come from the Election Commission today. Imran Khan has also challenged the decision of disqualification in the Toshakhana case in the Lahore High Court. Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court to withdraw a similar petition.
Later, the court granted the adjournment request of Election Commission’s lawyer Khalid Ishaq and adjourned the further hearing of the case till May 11.
