High alert has been issued in the state of Tamil Nadu ahead of the release of the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ in India.
According to an Indian media report, one of the government officials said on condition of anonymity that some groups have called for protests and our intelligence wing has also taken notice of their messages on social media.
A government official said that some Islamic groups in some districts of Tamil Nadu have also approached the police to ban the release of the film ‘The Kerala Story’ but the government is not enforcing the ban.
He said that even in the state of Kerala the film has not been banned but we have asked all our law enforcement agencies to be on high alert.
The official further said that the intelligence officers have not given us any such recommendation and the government has also not taken any decision on it.
After the release of the trailer of the film ‘The Kerala Story’, the organization of Muslim Ulama has also approached the court to ban the release of this controversial film.
According to the Muslim Ulama Organization, the story of the film has degraded the entire Muslim community and the release of the film may threaten the livelihood of the Muslim community.
The petitioners also claim that the characters portrayed in the film bear no resemblance to any real-life person, living or dead.
According to Indian media reports, the Supreme Court has confirmed that the court will not entertain any plea seeking a ban on the release of the film ‘The Kerala Story’.
It should be noted that the film ‘The Kerala Story’ will be released on May 5 this month.
