Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has issued re-entry permits to residents who have been living outside the country for more than 6 months.
According to the World News Agency, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has launched an online service to reactivate residence visas for Emirati nationals who have been living abroad for several months.
Under UAE law, overseas resident visa holders are required to visit the Kingdom every six months to update their status in order to maintain their status.
Due to various reasons, many people with resident visas could not come to the UAE. Such persons can now submit the application online instead of coming to the country for renewal.
However, the approval of the permit is the basic condition for activating the residency. Note that the six-month re-entry rule does not apply to Golden Visa holders in the UAE.
