He said that he condemns targeting journalists and spreading false information, all our freedom depends on the freedom of the press.
Antonio Guterres said that freedom of the press is the foundation of democracy and justice and the lifeblood of human rights. In the world today, truth is threatened by lies and hatred.
He adds that the spread of lies and hate blurs the line between fact and fiction, erasing the distinction between science and conspiracy.
