Government and PTI agree to hold elections on the same day across the country

Islamabad: In the third session of negotiations between the government and PTI, it was agreed to hold elections in the country on the same day, but they could not agree on the dissolution of the assemblies and the date of the elections.

Speaking to the media after the talks, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the talks were held in a positive atmosphere in which the government and PTI have agreed to hold elections on the same day in the entire country, but the date has not been fixed yet.

Ishaq Dar said that the general elections will be held in the presence of the caretaker governments, both the committees are firm on their position on the date of the election, but flexibility has been shown from both sides, they will also talk to their leadership, whatever day in the country. There will be elections and there will be supervisory governments.

Talk by Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, head of PTI’s negotiating committee, said in a media interview that Tehreek-e-Insaf is ready to go to the National Assembly once again to give constitutional protection to the elections to be held after 90 days. I will, but this edit will be a one-time only because we don’t want it to be a forever sandbox.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the negotiation process should not be used as a delaying tactic because the decision of the Supreme Court is in accordance with the constitution, so implement it. Also set the import roadmap.

Earlier, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani gave dinner to PTI and the government’s negotiation committee before the meeting and expressed hope in a short conversation with the media that, God willing, some solution will be found in the negotiations.

In a short break during the negotiations, PTI’s committee contacted Imran Khan by telephone, Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed the chairman about the proposals presented by the government, on which Imran Khan gave suggestions to the negotiation team.

On the other hand, during the negotiations, the government committee also contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and informed about the progress.
