New Delhi: In the northern Indian state of Punjab, Ludhiana, 11 people died due to the alleged release of poisonous gas.
According to Indian media, 9 people are being treated in the hospital due to gas, about which doctors have expressed concern. In this regard, the member of the Legislative Assembly in Ludhiana, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, said that a team of experts from the National Disaster Response Force is present at the scene to find out the cause of the gas leak and the nature of the gas.
He told the foreign news agency “Reuters” that the incident happened near a milk shop and a doctor’s clinic. We cannot say for sure where this gas leak started. He said that those who came to buy milk in the morning fainted outside.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted that the leak was from a factory without giving further details. ANI said that the fire brigade team is also present at the spot while the police have sealed the area.
