Lahore: The minimum monthly wage of a laborer in Punjab has been fixed at 32 thousand rupees. Marriage and death grants were also increased while talent scholarships are being given to their children, industries are closing due to the recent economic crisis, 6 lakh workers have become unemployed in Faisalabad alone.

On International Labor Day, the laborers are coming out with the slogan “Save the industry, save the laborers”. The conditions of the industrial workers are not good, working conditions, safety standards are not at all, minimum wages are not being paid, the employers do not register the labor due to which a large number of workers are deprived of social security, unfortunately the government does not have workers. The data of the number is not available, child labor has also doubled, the lack of attention of the state has made it impossible for the workers to live, the government should call a tripartite meeting to solve the problems of the workers. These views were expressed by the government and labor leaders in the “Express Forum” organized on the occasion of “International Workers’ Day”.

Secretary Labor Punjab Asadullah Faiz said Punjab has made its own law regarding labor, the rules will be submitted for approval soon after they are finalized. Credit goes to Chicago workers for what has been done around the world. Now the world is moving towards digitalization, it is necessary to have the data of the workers, in Corona it was found that there is no data, 10 billion of our worker welfare fund is with the federal government, it can be improved further.

President Working Women’s Organization and General Secretary All Pakistan Trade Union Federation Aima Mehmood said there are 76.9 million workers in Pakistan, our number is 144 in the world in women’s labor force, 10 percent of women work as home-based workers. Stay. Sadly, our industry is shrinking.

He said that 11 lakh workers are registered in social security in Punjab, out of which only 6 lakh have cards. Even if the salary is not received, if the worker takes his wages through the bank, it can be beneficial. The number of labor victims in Faisalabad alone is 6 lakh.

Civil society representative Bushra Khaliq said that it is a pity that the laborer is not getting the fruits of his labor, we have adopted the method of exploiting the laborer and are not giving him the basic rights which are guaranteed by the constitution of Pakistan. Said that labor is not a machine, it takes a lot of time which is affecting their life.
