Karachi: Police and Rangers detained 9 suspects during a joint search operation in the Sita Superhighway area between Saturday and Sunday.
According to the police, the operation continued for about 6 hours, the sensitive agency officials and lady searchers also participated in the joint operation.
Among the detained suspects are foreigners of Afghan origin. Afghans could not show any documents immediately regarding their residency in Pakistan.
The police suspect that Afghan nationals are residing illegally in Pakistan without travel documents. If they produce any proof of their stay in Pakistan, they will be released otherwise legal action will be taken against them.
Police say that the arrested Afghan nationals have admitted during interrogation that they had entered Pakistan by crossing the border illegally and then settled here.
The police have formally arrested 6 Afghan nationals and registered a case-charge No. 496/23 against the accused under Foreign Act 3(2)C14.
Among the arrested suspects are Allah Dad son of Haji Dad Gul, Azizullah son of Gul Mir, Gul Mir son of Haji Hanif Khan, Syed Mir son of Gul Mir, Khuda Noor son of Gul Mir and Allah Noor son of Gul Mir while investigation is on with the other arrested suspects. Is.
