Karachi: The owners of flour mills have alleged that the provincial government has not provided wheat despite the receipt of three billion rupees, after which the fear of flour crisis has once again arisen across the city.

An emergency meeting of flour mill owners was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Pakistan Flour Mills Association Chairman Chaudhry Amir Abdullah. In the meeting, the flour mill owners accused the Food Department of cheating.

The flour mill owners say that the food department did not give wheat even after taking three billion rupees from the flour mills, the food department had promised to give five million sacks, the flour mills have received 2 lakh sacks so far, the flour mills have received 5 lakh 52 thousand. Challans of sacks have been issued.

The flour mills owners said that due to this move, the worst wheat crisis is facing the city, we demand an early supply of wheat from the food department and if our demands are not met, we will announce an action plan on May 2.

According to Amir Abdullah, due to the government’s malicious wrong policies, mismanagement and alleged bribery, the Sindh Food Department could not meet the target of wheat last year as well, and there is no intention to meet this year as well, if our If these legitimate demands are not met, we will be forced to announce our next action plan on Tuesday, May 2.
