Karachi: Chairman Sindh Board of Film Censors Khalid Bin Shaheen has taken notice of the illegal screening of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s anti-Pakistan film Pathan.
According to Express News, the Sindh Board of Film Censors has taken notice of the news of the illegal screening of the Indian film ‘Pathan’ in Karachi. A company called Works Events is organizing the public screening of the Indian film Pathan at DHA on 4 February 2023 and the said company has also booked the tickets for the film.
The ongoing press release of the Sindh Board of Film Censors states that no private party or individual has the right to organize public screening of any film at public or private level unless a formal permit is issued for public screening of a film. Not done.
Chairman Board Khalid Bin Shaheen says that Section 4 (10) of the Sindh Motion Pictures Act 2011 regulates the public or private exhibition of a film and no one can exhibit a film without the approval of the Board, so it is appropriate that The screening of the film Pathan should be canceled immediately.
According to the report, the notice issued to the said company warned that if found violating the provisions of the said Act, such violation would be punishable under Section 18(1), which It is said that in case of illegal exhibition of any film not certified by the Board, the exhibitor shall be liable to imprisonment for three years or to a fine of Rs.100,000 or to both and in case of continuing the offence. A further fine of Rs 10,000 may be levied on a daily basis.
