Bandits robbed vehicles going to Hub Dam from Karachi to celebrate picnic

Karachi: Another major incident of ongoing banditry in the city has come to light, more than a dozen bandits in Gadap City area robbed picnic goers of Rs 2.5 lakh cash, mobile phones and 49mm pistols.

According to plaintiff Sue Rehan, he along with his friends was going to Hub Dam in 2 vehicles when near Hub School we were surrounded by armed men who were 15 in number and they took us hostage at gunpoint and took us from the main road. They took them down and searched everyone from the vehicles.

According to the plaintiff, the robbers took 60 thousand rupees in cash, mobile phone and pistol from me, while others, including 42 thousand rupees in cash, mobile phone, nine mm pistol from Zia-ul-Rehman, 35 thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone from Waheed Shah, Akhtar 8 thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone from Khan, 28 thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone from Lalzada, 30 thousand rupees in cash from Aslam, mobile phone, 9 mm pistol, color copy of ID card and arms license, 12 thousand rupees from Jamshed. Cash and mobile phone, 8 thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone from Sultan, 17 thousand rupees in cash, mobile phone and 9mm pistol from Akbar and 5 thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone from Sameer.

According to the plaintiff, all the robbers were wearing shalwar-kameez and they were wearing dhatas on their faces. Gadap city police registered the incident case number 191 of 2023 under sections 395 and 397 of the crime and handed it over to the investigation police. According to the incident took place on the night of April 24 while several robbers were also carrying Kalashnikovs.

The plaintiff said that the robbers were satisfied that they had no fear of the police and we felt as if we were being held hostage by the robbers. But when checked, she was coming near the closed Murad Medina Mosque, but due to lack of police patrolling, the area has become a haven for robbers.
