Moscow: In response to the expulsion of 15 Russian diplomats from Norway, Russia has also expelled 10 Norwegian diplomats.
According to international media, 10 Norwegian diplomats have been ordered to be expelled from Russia. The Norwegian ambassador in Moscow has been informed that 10 diplomats working in the Norwegian embassy are being expelled.
Norway’s foreign ministry quoted its ambassador to Russia as saying that Moscow has declared 10 of our diplomats inadmissible. After which the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ragnhild H. said in an email that the diplomats will have to leave Russia in a short time.
Norway’s foreign ministry said Russia’s move was in retaliation for the expulsion of 15 Russian diplomats from Norway this month, who were allegedly accused of espionage.
Second, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Norwegian ambassador and registered a protest against the decision to expel 15 Russian diplomats. The Russian Foreign Ministry added that it would take other measures in response to Norway’s unfriendly actions, including restrictions on the hiring of Russian personnel for Norwegian diplomatic missions.
