The Kremlin has threatened to seize more Western assets in response to foreign moves against Russian companies.

According to the report of the foreign news agency “Reuters”, after the seizure of Russian assets by Western countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree in the Kremlin to seize the assets of two European states.

According to the report, yesterday, President Vladimir Putin added Finland’s Fortum and Germany’s Uniper to Russian ownership, both of which operate power plants controlled by Moscow. Russia made it clear that this move could be withdrawn.

On the other hand, a Uniper company official said that they are reviewing the action against their division in Russia. Fortum said it was investigating and had learned from its Russian subsidiary that the company’s CEO had been replaced and the unit placed under temporary asset management.
