Karachi: The Sindh High Court accepted the appeal of the accused for the crime of possession of drugs and declared the sentence null and void.
A two-member bench headed by Justice KK Agha gave its verdict on the appeal against the conviction of the accused for the crime of drug possession. The prosecution failed to prove the crime.
The court accepted the appeal against the sentence and annulled the sentence of the accused.
The Subordinate Court sentenced Constable Fayaz and son Mahboob Jafari to 7 years imprisonment and fine. A case was registered against the accused in Jackson police station in October 2020.
According to the prosecution, the accused kept more than 8 kg of hashish in the house for sale. Lawyer Safi had submitted that the subordinate court did not carefully examine the contradictions in the evidence.
