The Supreme Court has called for the records of the cases that ended with the NAB amendments

Islamabad: The Supreme Court sought the records of the cases closed by the accountability courts as a result of the amendments in the NAB rules.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on NAB’s request to cancel the bail of the accused in a case related to corruption, the court said which cases were sent to the relevant forum after the NAB amendments. The record should be submitted.

During the hearing, NAB made a statement regarding the ongoing case that Quetta’s corruption case has gone out of NAB jurisdiction, the application has become ineffective. A review committee is constituted for the cases returned from the accountability courts, which refer the cases to the relevant forum.

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked that no one is being acquitted due to NAB amendments but cases are being transferred. NAB amendments are a challenge in the Supreme Court, the court has yet to decide.

The Chief Justice inquired what NAB is doing with the cases which are returning from the accountability courts due to amendments. The court said that give the record of the last 6 months, which NAB cases were sent to other forums.
