Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the assistant administrative attache posted at its embassy was killed during the ongoing clashes in Khartoum.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in its statement that Muhammad Al-Gharawi was on his way to the embassy to implement the evacuation of Egyptian citizens stuck in Sudan when he was hit by bullets.
The Sudanese army reported the death of the Egyptian diplomat. Later correcting its statement, the army said the diplomats were burnt to death by paramilitary forces.
