Concerns over census, MQM's intention to quit government and assembly

Karachi: The MQM Coordination Committee has taken a major decision in its meeting and 7 of its members have resigned from the National Assembly.

According to Express News, under the chairmanship of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, a meeting of the coordination committee of MQM Pakistan was held in which serious concerns were expressed over the inconclusive results of the census.

In the meeting, MQM Pakistan considered not to accept the results of the census and to use all possible options of protest.

According to the sources, the members of the coordination committee suggested a strong protest to the federal government, while it has been decided to consult the parliamentarians in this regard.

In the meeting, the coordination committee was told that the MQM members are not satisfied with the results and the meetings held with the Prime Minister and the federal ministers regarding the census.

MQM sources have claimed that 25 lakh households were not counted in the current census.

On the other hand, the federal government contacted the leadership of MQM Pakistan and invited them to discuss the reservations, which was accepted by the United.

According to sources, the delegation of MQM Pakistan will meet Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad on Wednesday morning.
