Rawalpindi: In the last match of the five-match T20 series, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets to level the series at 2, 2. One match of the series between the two teams was rained out.

In the fifth and final match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, New Zealand won the toss and decided to field, Pakistan scored 193 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

As the Black Caps opened their innings in pursuit of the target, the Pakistani bowlers dominated and sent 3 bowlers to the pavilion for a total score of 26, but Mark Champman and James Neesham dashed Pakistan’s hopes of winning the series.

Mark Neesham scored 104 runs off 57 balls and James Neesham scored 45 runs off 25 balls not out and played an important role in bringing success to his team.

Imad Wasim took 2 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs while Shaheen Afridi dismissed 2 players for 48 runs in 4 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan played a brilliant innings of 98 runs off 62 balls and remained not out, Babar Azam scored 19 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed 36 runs, Imad Wasim scored 31 runs, Blair Tickner took 3 runs and Ash Sodhi took one wicket.

Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the first two matches, while in the third match, the Kiwis made a comeback and defeated the green shirts by 4 runs after a thrilling match.

New Zealand and Pakistan made two changes in the team for the fifth T20 match, New Zealand included James Neesham in place of Cole McConchie and Blair Tickner in the team in place of Matt Henry, who suffered a minor injury, while Pakistan In place of Zaman and Zaman Khan, Ehsanullah and Mohammad Haris were included in the playing XI.

Pakistan’s playing XI included Babar Azam (captain), Muhammad Rizwan (wicket keeper), Muhammad Haris, Saeem Ayub, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Ehsanullah.

The New Zealand team consisted of Tom Latham (captain and wicketkeeper), Chad Bowes, Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Adam Milne, Blair Tickner, Ash Sodhi and Henry Shipley.
