Karachi: Yasir Hussain and Ayesha Umar’s film ‘Kukdi’, based on notorious murderer Javed Iqbal, has been cleared by the Censor Board for release.
The director of the film, Abu Aliha, had announced last month on the direction of the Censor Board that the name of the film should be changed from Javed Iqbal to ‘Kukdi’.
Filmmaker Abu Aliha also revealed that directed edits have also been made in the film. He said that the film has been resubmitted to the Censor Board, hoping to get the green light for release.
However, in a statement given to the Express Tribune, Abu Aliha has confirmed that his film ‘Kukdi’ has been cleared by the Censor Board.
This film based on serial killer Javed Iqbal will be released in theaters across Pakistan on May 19.
It should be noted that actor Yasir Hussain has played the role of Javed Iqbal in the film Mazkoora, while Ayesha Umar will be seen playing the role of a female police officer in the film.
