Lahore: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the traffic police offered flowers instead of challan to minor violators of the law.
On the day of Eid, the traffic police officials distributed flowers among the citizens on different roads of the provincial capital. SP President Asif Siddique presented flowers to citizens on Mall Road while SP City Shehzad Khan visited various highways and gave flowers to citizens.
On the instructions of CTO Lahore, the circle officers distributed flowers to the motorists in their respective circles. He said that the challan is being issued only for serious violations. For minor violations only warnings are being issued along with informing the citizens.
He said that actions are being taken against one-wheeling, halarbazi and underage drivers. CTO Lahore appealed to the parents to pay special attention to their children during the Eid holidays and not to give motorcycles or vehicles to young children. Young children cause accidents.
