In Afghanistan, women are banned from participating in Eid celebrations

Baghlan: In Afghanistan, the Taliban banned women from participating in Eid celebrations. The ban has been imposed only in two provinces, Baghlan and Takhar.
According to international media, the provincial administration of Baghlan and Takhar have also issued separate notices in this regard, in which women have been instructed to avoid going out in groups during Eid-ul-Fitr.

It has been reported in the international media that the administration of the two provinces has imposed this ban on women after the demand of the scholars and local elites to prevent mixed gatherings.

It should be noted that because of increasing restrictions on women, the Taliban is being severely criticized at the international level.

A week ago, a ban on women going to restaurants in Herat province sparked criticism of the Taliban, and now the ban on women attending Eid celebrations during Eid-ul-Fitr is also against women’s rights. It is seen as a violation.
