A report by the United Nations agency World Meteorological Organization said that floods from rains and melting glaciers in Pakistan displaced millions of people last year.
The report said that record rains in Pakistan and famine in Africa affected millions of people, immense heat in China and Europe also affected millions of people.
According to the World Meteorological Organization, rising global temperatures and melting glaciers are bad news for Pakistan, Pakistan has 7000 glaciers, more than any country in the world except the poles.
Rising temperatures and climate change have exacerbated global food shortages, forcing people to migrate, the report said.
The report states that the world’s glaciers are melting dramatically, record emissions of greenhouse gases are adversely affecting the world, and the past 8 years have been the hottest years on record.
In this regard, the report states that emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide have reached record levels, with sea levels rising at a rate of 4.62 mm between 2013 and 2022, the rate of sea level rise in 1993. The rate has doubled since 2002.
