In interbank exchange, the dollar has become expensive by 27 paise in the month of Siam. Interbank exchange remained closed for business on 1st Ramadan, 23rd March and 24th March for Zakat deduction.
Thus, the first business day in the month of Siam in Interbank was March 27. By the end of the first business week of the fasting month on March 31, the dollar appreciated by 60 paise.
External payments remained under pressure in the second business week of the fasting month, which began on April 3. Due to increase in demand of dollar, the price of dollar increased by 4 rupees 6 paisa in the first three days of April and the price of dollar decreased by 3 rupees 43 paisa on the fourth day of the business week. In the second week of the fasting month, the dollar has become expensive by 86 paise.
From April 10, the third business week of the fasting month began in Interbank. And on April 11, the dollar hit an all-time high of 288 rupees 43 paise. As the pressure of quarterly payments eased, the dollar began to depreciate in the remaining days of the fasting month and ended the fasting month at a monthly low of 283 rupees 47 paise.
