7 people including 2 women, 2 girls and 2 children died in the accident
Dunyapur: An uncontrolled oil tanker rammed into the huts of poor people in Kahrur Pakka Chowk, killing 7 people.
According to hospital sources, 7 people including 2 women, 2 girls and 2 children died in the accident while 4 people including 2 women were seriously injured. The rescue volunteers shifted the dead bodies and the injured to the nearest hospital.
As soon as the accident was reported, District Police Officer Lodhran reached Dunyapur and inspected the accident site. The oil tanker also hit the side of the police vehicle on duty at Kahrupka Chowk.
According to the initial reports, the accident occurred due to the bursting of the tires of the oil tanker. Ladha, the owner of the shack, refused to take legal action, however, the police have registered a case for the death of 7 people in the accident. A case was registered against the driver under the provisions of speeding and negligence.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives as a result of the oil tanker running out of control at Kahror Pakka Chowk near Lodhran and entering into the pits. Dar ordered legal action against the driver.
