Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the security and safety of Pakistanis in Sudan is the first priority of the government of Pakistan.
According to Express News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a statement in which he expressed his concern regarding the safety and security of Pakistanis in Sudan.
The Prime Minister said that the situation in Sudan is closely monitored while the measures related to the safety and security of Pakistani citizens are being continuously monitored. The Pakistani Embassy in Sudan is in constant contact with Pakistanis for which a WhatsApp group has also been created and they are being provided with all possible facilities.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that he is in touch with friendly countries and the United Nations on the issue of safety and security of Pakistanis and early evacuation. Pakistan is confident that the Sudanese authorities will take all measures to ensure the safety and security of Pakistanis.
On the other hand, the Pakistani embassy in Sudan has instructed Pakistanis to stay at home. Due to the insecurity of the roads leading to the airports, the evacuation of Pakistanis from Sudan is facing difficulties.
Additionally, the Foreign Secretary also held an online meeting with the Pakistani Embassy in Sudan and discussed the situation.
