Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed the Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab to complete the appointments and transfers in the provinces as soon as possible.
According to the information received by the Election Commission sources in the Express News, in the letter sent to the Chief Ministers of the two provinces, the Election Commission has asked that the Chief Secretaries and IGs of the provinces should be changed soon. The transfer posting process should be completed.
According to the sources, the Election Commission will soon release the schedule of general elections in the provinces, after the election schedule, any kind of transfer posting will be stopped.
On the other hand, the Election Commission postponed the meeting called on February 2 to prepare the code of conduct for the general elections in Punjab and KP. The Election Commission informed the political parties about the postponement of the meeting.
According to the sources, the date of the consultation meeting will be finalized soon and the political parties will be informed. .
