The Sindh High Court acquitted the accused who was sentenced to death in the murder case by the Anti-Terrorism Court.

The Sindh High Court, while ruling on the appeal against the death sentence in the murder case, annulled the decision of the Anti-Terrorism Court.

The court accepted the appeal against the death sentence of accused Rizwan Ali.

The Sindh High Court remarked that the prosecution had failed to prove its case.

The prosecution argued that the accused was accused of murdering a 7-year-old child after abduction, whose body was found in the Malir river on July 14, 2020.

He said that the anti-terrorism court had sentenced the accused to death on November 24, 2022. A case of murder and kidnapping was registered against the accused in Korangi Industrial Area.

The lawyer of the accused said that the police did not have concrete evidence except the confession of the accused, the decision of the anti-terrorism court should be annulled.
