21 patients died due to fire in Beijing hospital

Beijing: 21 patients were burnt to death in a fire at a hospital in the Chinese capital.

According to Chinese media, a fire broke out at a hospital in Fengshai district of Beijing on Tuesday at 1 pm Chinese time. The fire spread so fast that it engulfed a large part of the hospital in no time.

According to China Daily, 21 people, including patients, died due to burns, while 71 patients were safely evacuated from the hospital.

After an hour and a half of continuous efforts, the fire fighters managed to douse the fire, but by the time the rescue operation was completed, a large part of the hospital building had been severely damaged.

According to the media, the cause of the fire is still unknown and the relevant departments are investigating in this regard.
