Britain’s King Charles Swimme attended Sandhurst Military Academy’s Commissioning Parade for the first time since his coronation.
It was the first time that a flag bearing the coat of arms of King Charles was flown in a photographic unit.
Cadet Jabbar Ali Al Sabah of Kuwait was awarded the international sword for best performance.
Speaking on the occasion, King Charles said about the Ukraine conflict that Europe has not seen such a war since 1945.
King Abdullah II of Jordan and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah also participated in the ceremony. Both personalities are educated at Sandhurst Academy.
King Abdullah awarded the academy’s ‘Al Hussain Medal’ to Bahraini cadet Sheikh Al Waleed Khalid Ahmed for best training.
The 200th passing-out ceremony of Sandhurst Academy was held on Friday, 40,000 officers have been commissioned here since 1947.
In yesterday’s ceremony, 177 officers passed out, including 26 foreign cadet officers from 15 countries.
