Islamabad: Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Darne has said that steps are being taken to rehabilitate the people affected by last year’s worst floods, the government is taking all measures to stabilize the economy.
He expressed these views on Saturday on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in a virtual meeting with the president of the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank, Jin Lee Kun.
Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr. Ayesha Ghos Pasha, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant Tariq Mehmood Pasha and Special Secretary Finance participated in the meeting virtually from Islamabad while Pakistan Ambassador to America Masood Ahmed Khan, Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmed, Finance Secretary and Economic Secretary Amor Vidhan personally attended the meeting in Washington.
The Finance Minister informed the President of the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank about the current economic scenario of the country and the economic policies and reforms of the government for sustainable economic development.
The Finance Minister thanked the President for his generous support in the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the flood-affected areas of Pakistan. The President of Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank expressed his satisfaction on the relationship between Pakistan and Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank.
He appreciated the current government’s economic policies and reforms for social development. The President of the Bank highlighted the Bank’s role in infrastructure development projects and investments. He said that the bank will continue to cooperate with Pakistan. The Finance Minister thanked the President for his continuous support to Pakistan for sustainable economic development of the country.
