New York: The New York Police Department has recruited robotic dogs to help patrol certain areas.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams told a press conference that the digidog, also named ‘Spot’, will help humans. They will monitor major construction projects and other places where humans are at risk.

Obviously, this is the famous robot dog made by Boston Dynamics. Although it was given some responsibilities in 2020, it was objected that the mechanical dog could pose a threat to common people as well.

However, now again the robotic dog has been recruited under a project. However, in the first phase, two mechanical dogs will be recruited which will be used in highly dangerous situations like terrorism or bomb blasts. A robot costs $750,000.

However, human rights organizations have termed it a waste of public tax money as the role of using these dogs has not been fully revealed.
