Qatar and Bahrain will restore diplomatic ties after six years, the official news agencies of both countries have confirmed the development.
Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt ended their boycott of Qatar in January 2021 after three and a half years.
Apart from Bahrain, the other three countries had restored travel and trade ties with Doha in 2021.
On Wednesday, the Bahraini and Qatari committees held a second meeting at the General Secretariat headquarters of the Gulf Cooperation Organization in Riyadh, where it was decided to restore diplomatic relations.
It should be noted that in January of this year, the Crown Prince of Bahrain contacted the Qatari Emir by telephone.
It should be remembered that in 2017, Arab countries severed relations with Qatar for supporting some movements.
